Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

Functional capacity evaluation (FCE)  is often used to assess a worker’s functional ability relevant to a specific job role.

This is used to help understand if the worker is safe to perform the job role and whether there may be any risks involved.

Following the assessment, a report is completed and this involves classifying the worker as low or high risk of injury.

Some of the areas of assessment include:

  • Joint range of motion

  • Muscular Strength

  • Cardiovascular Fitness

  • Balance

  • Neurodynamics

  • Manual Handling Capacity
